TRADITIONAL SERVICE || CREMATION SERVICE

Cremation Service

Cremation is a process that is used to prepare the human body for final disposition. Through the use of intense heat and direct flames the body is reduced to calcified bone fragments. It is not intended to replace the elements of a traditional funeral, but rather is simply an alternative to earth burial or entombment.

The process of cremation in no way prevents family and friends from participating in the rituals of a visitation with the body present, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home or church. The cremation then would follow the services rather than everyone going to the cemetery for burial.

A memorial service, or gathering, can merely be a funeral service without the body present. However, the cremated remains may well be present in an urn and be used as a focal point. In this scenario, the cremation has already been accomplished with the memorial service being held from several days to several weeks or months later.

Of course, cremation can be accomplished without any services or ceremony of any kind. This is commonly known as direct cremation.

In all the preceding options, the final disposition must still be decided. The cremated remains may be placed in an urn or permanent container and then be buried in the family plot; they may be kept by a family member, scattered at a favorite hiking trail, woods, stream or lake, or simply disposed of by the crematory.

All of these things are options, your options. Simply call and talk with us. Of course, there is no cost of obligation for these discussions.
