Obituaries

Alayna Sheryl Geiler, age 25 of Lima, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 11:57 a.m., at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born January 22, 1998 in Lima to Benjamin and Cindy (Spayd) Smith, Sr. Her father and stepmother, Benjamin and Laura Smith, Sr. survive in Elida, as does her mother and stepfather, Cindy and Ron Brenneman. On November 7, 2020, she married Erich L. Geiler, Jr. who survives in Lima.

Also surviving are her brother, Ben (Heather) Smith, Jr. of Mt. Victory, beloved "Lou Lou" to Piper, Isaac and Anna cherished Nay Nay to many; mother-in-law, Leona Finn of Elida and father-in-law, Erich Geiler, Sr., of Medina; grandparents, Phil & Judy Spayd of Elida and Byron & Evelyn Smith of Elida; step siblings: Ryan & Stacy Brenneman of Shawnee, Rodney & Julie Brenneman of Elida, Rachelle Harmon of Elida, Mark & Rhonda Braun of Bluffton, Rollin & Tayler Brenneman of Shawnee; plus many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Sheryl Spayd.

Alayna was a 2016 graduate of Bath High School/Apollo. She recently became a licensed insurance agent of State Farm Insurance. She was a member of Cornerstone Church, she enjoyed caring for everyone and would light up a room upon her entry.

Her visitation will be on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Cornerstone Church, 2000 N. Cole St., Lima. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Cornerstone Church, with Pastor Janet Wend officiating. There will also be one hour visitation prior to the service at the church. Burial will be follow in Allentown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
