Anthony "Tony" "Pops" Howard Sherer, 82, passed away at 10:32 am November 3, 2023 at his residence.

He was born July 10, 1941 in Lima to Howard W. and Albertina (Sweiner) Sherer who preceded him in death. His previous spouse Phyllis (Tull) Sherer preceded him in death on February 19, 2019.

Tony worked in quality control at General Dynamics retiring in 1996 and then worked as a welder for Mid Bus retiring in 2003. He was a US Navy Veteran on the USS Conway during the Vietnam War, a very active long time member of the Salvation Army. He enjoyed visiting and singing at many area nursing homes.

Survivors include: 4 Daughters, Tammy (Dave) Lomen of Lima, Chris (Glenn) Archer of Toledo, Missy (Todd) Tittle of Cincinnati, Kelly (Pete) Binkley of Wapakoneta; a Son, Anthony H. Sherer, III of Toledo; Twelve Grandchildren; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren; a Brother, Carl (Sylvia) Sherer of Benton Ridge; a Sister-in-Law, Connie Sherer of Lima; Best Friend, Debbie Long of Lima.

Preceded in death by: a Brother, Gary Sherer; a Sister, Sylvia (Jim) Schultz.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Salvation Army Church with Captains Phillip and Charity Bender officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army Lima Corp Christmas Fund.
