Barbara R. Bloomfield, age 92, passed away on January 14, 2024, at 2:54 pm, at the Blanchard Valley Hospital. Barbara was born March 10, 1931, in Hardin County, OH, to Roy L. Hoover and Abby Edith (Sinift) Weis who both preceded her in death. On February 4, 1989, she married Clyde E. Bloomfield who preceded her in death on November 27, 2018.
Barbara is survived by her children: John Michael (Jeannine) Clark of Findlay, OH, Roderick "Rick" J. (Ann) Clark of Russells Point, OH and Sandra K. (Jeff) Hissong of Arlington, OH, a son in-law, Joe Smith of Newnan, GA, her grandchildren: Beth (Gregg), Joe (Josie), Rachael (Aaron), Lindsay (Bo), Erin, Amber, Lucas (Anna), Amy (Jason), Jay (Caroline), Ethan, her great grandchildren: Justin, Graham, Patrick, Anna, Victoria, Alexis, Sam, Daniel, Jase, Sydney, Carsyn, Quinn, Gavin, Ty, Mia, Andrew, Nathan, Joshua, Abram, Andersyn, Theodore, Georgie and Miles and 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-son Glen Bloomfield and step-daughter Jennifer Orion. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick J. Clark, her daughter, Vicki J. Smith, a sister, Betty Jean Baier, a step-son Larry Bloomfield and a step-daughter Caroline Bloomfield.
Barbara had attended McGuffey High School and had worked at Air Foil Textron as an inspector for 34 years from which she retired in 1989. She was a member of the Indian Lake Community Church where she had been an elder and sang in the choir. Barbara had volunteered at the Lima Memorial Hospital for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She also loved to fish, and watching her Ohio State football and basketball games on television.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jim Ellington and Pastor Karen Blackburn. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Lake Community Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
