Obituary For Bennie Frank Sloan III

Bennie Frank Sloan III, 48 of Colorado Springs, formerly of Lima, passed away October 30, 2023.

Bennie was born November 14, 1974 in Lima to Bennie Jr. and Cathy (Taylor) Sloan, who survive him in Wapakoneta.

Bennie was a 1993 graduate of Perry High School and he worked as the kitchen manager at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Colorado Springs. He was a kind, funny and outgoing guy that everyone loved to be around. Bennie enjoyed all things musical and working with electronics. He loved the outdoors, especially hiking and camping.

In addition to his parents, Bennie is survived by his sister, Stacie (Troy) Green; niece, Brooke (Tony) Elsass; nephew, Troy (Andrea) Green and great nieces and nephews, Walker, Waylon, Crew, Colton and Caroline.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joy & Herb Garmatter and Carl and Doris Taylor.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES - EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

    I worked with Ben for a year. He was my work BFF. We worked so well together. He was an awesome person. I was looking him up online when I seen that he passed. I am so sorry for your loss.

    Ben was the faculty advisor for the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs Radio Station. He had a vital role in helping the station become a nationally recognized college radio station, which received a nomination for the best online college radio station in the country. Ben's work with the radio station helped hundreds of students learn, grow and express themselves through radio and music. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

    I just heard and am devastated. My girls and I hung out with him a lot when he eorjed at the Radio Station. We also went on his Happy Face Tour with him one year . Always a kind heart. Will miss him. I still cant believe this. I have a lot of candid pixs of him if the family would like them.

    To Cathy and Ben I am very sorry I cannot make it Saturday. Benny was a good boy and very likeable. You raised him good and to go home so early was sad. Very sorry . Are thoughts are with you.
