Obituary For Bobbie Austin Thompson

Lima, OH formerly of Charlotte, NC

Bobbie Austin Thompson, age 93, was called into the presence of the Lord at 3:55 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Lima Convalescent Home.

Bobbie was born March 29, 1930, in Charlotte, NC, to the late John Alexander and Bertha (Guin) Austin. On August 4, 1949, she married, James Lee Thompson who preceded her in death in 1988.

Bobbie was a 1949 graduate of Thomasboro High School in Charlotte, NC. She retired from Americold Logistics after many years of service. Bobbie loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church activities. She also enjoyed Square Dancing and attending flea markets. Bobbie's greatest joy was her family; she especially loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Jim) Rudolph of Lima; grandchildren, Caroline (Ian) Munsick of Nashville, TN, and John (Alanna Diepenbrock) Rudolph of Lima; great grandchildren, Crawford James Munsick, and Isabella Kay Rudolph and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, Margaret (Harry) Honeycutt, Audrey (John) King, Maurice (Elizabeth) Austin, Donnie Austin Murphy, Clyde Austin, and William (Sally) Austin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. 28208.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Convalescent Home Foundation, 1650 Allentown Rd, Lima, OH 45805.

    Bobbie was a lovely soul. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved the Lord and her family. We shared many road trips and Bobbie often car pooled the neighborhood kids to events. She was like a second mother to many of us. She will truly be missed. Heaven sure gained an angel !
