Obituaries

Brent Anthony States, age 51 of Lima, passed away September 7, 2023, at 2:45 p.m. at his residence.

He was born July 24, 1972, in Lima, to Louis and Verna (Aaron) States. His father and stepmother, Judith Ellen States survive in Huntsville. His mother, Verna States Manus preceded him in death.

Also surviving are his brothers and sister: Todd Allen (Julia Sue) States and Scott (Missy) States both of Lima and Lisa Jane (Ryan) Scheib of St. Marys; stepbrother, Bill (Brein) Harman of Cincinnati, and stepsister, Stacy (Kevin) Friesner of Sherrills Ford, NC; 15 nieces and nephews, and 6 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Brent was a 1992 graduate of Elida High School, and then entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served with the Red Horse Battalion in Korea. He was a member of the V.F.W. and loved to work with his hands, whether he was cooking, wood working, construction or tinkering on his cars. He loved his dogs.
