Obituary For Carol J. Bowsher

Lima, Ohio

Carol J. Bowsher, age 89, was called into the presence of the Lord at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center.

Carol was born March 20, 1934, in Lima, OH, to the late Earl and Ferol (Crow) Archer. On October 3, 1952, she married Kenith "Ken" Bowsher who preceded her in death on September 7, 2010.

Carol was a 1952 graduate of Lima South High School. She was a longtime member of Westside United Methodist Church, attended Lima Missionary Baptist and enjoyed gardening and reading. Carol's greatest joy was her family. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Sharon (Eddie) De La Cruz, Pam (Steve) Rossin, Brenda (Jack) Webb, and Dennis (Jenny) Bowsher, eight grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Jan (Wayne) Fitz, Lana (Norm) Bowsher, and Connie Archer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Verdon (Marge) Archer, and Roger (Della) Archer; five sisters, Ruth (Floyd) Metzger, Vera (Ralph) Rutledge, Martha (Allen) Shappel, Joyce (Ron) Ketchum, and Alice (Dave) Conrad.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Lima Missionary Baptist Church, 3085 Yoder Rd., Lima, Ohio 45805. Pastor Terry Brock will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at Lima Missionary Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Missionary Baptist Church or the food pantry.

    I am so sorry for all of the Bowsher family. Carol was a wonderful woman. I don't ever remember her without a warm smile on her face. She loved her family with all of her heart.
