Lima, Ohio

Mrs. Charlotte Lou Stambaugh, age 86, of Lima, passed away at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

Charlotte was born January 30, 1937, in Van Wert, OH, to the late Emil and Minnie E. (Goldsmith) Feltner. On July 3, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Eugene "Gene" Stambaugh.

Charlotte attended Lima Central High School and was employed at Montgomery Ward in sporting goods, as well as at Clyde Evan's County Market prior to her retirement. She was especially proud of her family, and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Eugene "Gene" Stambaugh of Lima; three children, Ted Stambaugh of Lima, Robert "Bob" (Janet) Stambaugh of Alpheratta, GA, and Tim (Sabrina) Stambaugh of Lima; three grandsons, Jim Stambaugh of Charleston, SC, John (Shannon) Stambaugh of Charleston, SC, and Max Stambaugh of Jackson, MI; two granddaughters, Kristin (Andrew) Goss of Alpheratta, GA, and Jessica (Derrik) Long of Lima; six great grandsons, Brian, Jack, Carson, William, Preston, and Davis; and five great granddaughters, Caroline, Meridith, Julia, Allison, and Lauren, and a sister, Louise (Harlen) Park of Buffalo, NY.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ann Agostino-Stambaugh; and seven sisters, Sarah Barnett, Norma Crouch, Ethel Lippi, Carol J. Feltner, Eileen Scheele, Nellie Petree, Inez Metzger; and brother, Emil "Bud" Feltner.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Dan Gutman will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Salem Westminster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the funeral home.
