Obituary For Clyde E. Ditto

Clyde E. Ditto, 77, passed away at 7:36 am, March 4, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born August 30, 1946 in Lima to Kenneth W. and Helen V. (Staup) Ditto who preceded him in death. On February 9, 1968 he married Judy D. Apple who preceded him in death on February 27, 2023.

Clyde was a architectural draftsman for Lyman J. Strong Architecture and was a full time farmer. He was lifelong member of the First Baptist Church serving on multiple church boards, member of the Elida Young Farmers, Allen County Agricultural Society for 27 years, Allen County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, 4-H Advisor for 16 years, elected to the Agricultural Society and Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard.

Survivors include: 2 Sons, Doug (Janice) Ditto of Delphos, Greg (Leigh) Ditto of Lima; 7 Grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy) Rahrig, Jessica Garuccio, Justin Rahrig, Jennifer Ditto, Jason (Leslie) Ditto, Tate Ditto, Gabe Ditto; 7 Great- Grandchildren; a Brother, Thomas A. (Pam) Ditto of Delphos.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL and from 9:00 am until time of services at 10:00 am Thursday at First Baptist Church, Lima with Rev. Josh Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Delphos VFW Post 3035 and the US Army National Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Agricultural Society or First Baptist Church.

    I have wonderful memories of our youth when I spent many summers and many family get togethers at the farm. I am so sorry I cannot be there to celebrate the great person and cousin Clyde was. Carol Staup Calhoun
