Obituary For E. Arlene Currier

E. Arlene Dershem McClain Currier
Arlene Currier, 91, went to her eternal rest at her home Monday, August 14, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born July 27, 1932, in Allen Co. to Jesse and Mertie (Shock) Dershem, both deceased. She graduated from Shawnee High School. She was a member of Westside United Methodist Church, where she was a very active member. She was an avid crafter and loved to cook and host parties. She also was a volunteer at Our Daily Bread. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She was married to Richard McClain (deceased) and had six children with him: Linda (David) Botchlett, Houston, TX; Charlene Baynard, Franklin, VA; Phyllis Wreede, Lima; Darrel McClain, Jacksonville, FL; Sylvia (Donnie) Wireman, Lima; and Michele (Domenico) Ciccone, Carmel, NY. She was the grandmother of twenty-one, great grandmother of thirty-six, and great-great grandmother of eight.
She later married Richard Currier, also deceased, and gained six stepchildren; many step-grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Russel Dershem, Wilma Ebling, Everett Dershem, Ross Dershem, Ilo Hardesty, Gerald Dershem, Ivan Dershem and Adrian Dershem; one grandchild and one stepchild.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Pastor Dan Lee will officiate the service.
Interment will be in Allentown Cemetery at a later time in a private service.
