Obituary For Earl Todd Schaub

Earl ‘Todd’ Schaub, 56 of Lima, was reunited with his sister, Niki, on March 5, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with his wife by his side.

Todd was born December 15, 1967 in Lima, to Earl Schaub and Jane (Berres) Scheblo who survive him in Wapakoneta. On September 10, 1999 he married Lynn (Marouchoc) Schaub, who survives him in Lima. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Lauren and Zoe Schaub.

Todd was a 1986 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and a 1990 graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he was a Sigma Chi. He was the owner of S&S Volvo in Lima where he received numerous awards including North American Dealer of the Year and Dealer of the Year in 2017. Todd’s business model was to treat customers as friends, which led to his success. Along with his customers, Todd cherished the dedicated work and commitment of his employees. Todd was a long time supporter of 4H, where he enjoyed raising sheep and cattle with Zoe and Lauren. Through his work with 4H and with the help of his daughter, Lauren, Todd raised a substantial amount of money for the Niki Schaub Scholarship to honor his younger sister. Todd was Zoe’s biggest fan at volleyball games. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, racing cars, smoking tires and party planning. He loved Country Concert, where he was truly in his element entertaining his friends, family and customers. Todd was an avid car collector and loved to travel. He was currently studying to be a sommelier. Todd had a huge heart and generously supported many local organizations and charities. He was a major donor to Lima Memorial Hospital and the Pink Ribbon Girls. Todd became president of Shawnee Country Club so he would stop getting ‘Do Better Letters’ and be forever memorialized with his picture in the halls of Shawnee. He served as a Trustee at the University of Northwestern Ohio. To his family and friends, he was ‘the Todd-father” and Dr. Schaub. Although he didn’t know it, he loved their two dogs, Frankie and Bernice. Most of all, Todd loved spending time with his family, especially traveling with his wife and daughters. Their adventures took them all over the world. Todd didn’t do anything half-way. He was extreme in every way. Todd had a huge personality and was always the life of the party. Todd will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him until he greets us all with a “Howdy” when we meet again.

Todd is survived by his sister, Rhonda (Jeff) Schultz; brother, Toby (Laura) Schaub; the East Coast in-laws, Anthony & Georgia Marouchoc; sister-in-law, Karey (Scott) Charpentier; brother-in-law, John (Kristin) Marouchoc; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Kelley, Seth Schultz, Taylor (Nicole) Schultz, Noah Schaub, Sara Schaub, Ty Schaub, Jake Lyman, Madison Lyman, Ben Lyman, Owen Marouchoc and William Marouchoc and many aunts, uncles and cousins. So sorry to hear of Todd's passing. Todd was on our wrestling team in high school. He was hard working, fun and had a great personality. I have fond memories of time I spent coaching him. Tom Hunter

The best way to serve Todd's memory for us is the recollection of a story from swim team. The other kids in the event had finished, our little fighter was still pushing to the finish line. Besides us, there was one other voice yelling "Let's go! You got this! You can do it!". That was Todd. Always a smile, always a positive attitude, everyone's cheerleader. We will miss you Todd. Rest in peace with the Todd smile.

Yesterday I have received the worst news I could've had. We lost an amazing human being! Todd was the most kind, genuine, humble and funny person I've ever worked with, and I'm so grateful for meeting him in this lifetime. It was such a short while, but I've learned in this past couple of years how a truly successful person became so successful. He told me once that he was so successful because, besides his beautiful family by his side supporting his decisions, he used to spend his day surrounded by friends everywhere he goes. His employees were his friends, his clients were his friends, his vendors were his friends. He treated everyone as his friends, including me ♥️. Make friends was an easy task for him, and show his appreciation to every single one of us was his biggest gift! I will never going to forget his phone calls talking about business, watches, cars, family, trips and everything else he kindly shared! Just by thinking about all of this, makes me want to be a better person every day, and spreading all he thought me! May he rest in peace, I will keep praying for his soul, for Lynn, Lauren, Zoe, his entire family and friends, and hopefully we will see each other again by the Lord's side! My deepest condolences, Bruna Soares ♥️

Lynn: I cannot imagine what you are going through. You have my deepest sympathies for your whole family. My fondest memory of Todd is when I was working at the bank and him and I had to go repossess a semi. I never was so scared but laughed so hard. He will truly be missed.
