Ellie had been blessed to be married to two wonderful men in her life. Ellie married Egbert “Bert” Leo Brady, Jr., her late first husband, in 1950. Bert was in the military. Ellie married the love of her life, Charles Eugene “Gene” Wollenhaupt, her late second husband, in 1974. They had 40 wonderful years playing and enjoying music together. Ellie was a member of American Federation of Musicians Local 320 and loved to sing as part of Gene’s Band at a variety of venues in the Lima Area including the Park and Friday Night Dances. She was a member of the Eagles and loved to go dancing there with her daughter Susan. Ellie also performed in plays at Encore Theatre. Before moving to Lima, she did some modeling in Pittsburgh. She loved to spend time with her family, work in her yard and enjoyed giving apples from her tree to people in the neighborhood and church. Ellie was a member of St. Gerard's and the Zion Lutheran Church.

Additional family members include granddaughters: Alice Sue Fedele Drake (deceased), who was adopted as a daughter by Ellie and Gene, and her children Ryan Harper, Jacob Moore, Kersten Gottfried, and Kathy Hooks; Cheriese Fedele-White and her children Alonna White and Joseph Fedele; and nine great-great grandchildren; her stepsons - David Wollenhaupt (Wife: Robin) and children Erik, Keri, Adam, Marc, Seth, Kurt, and Kiya; Thomas Wollenhaupt (Wife: Tess) and children Daniel and Tim; and five great grandchildren; her nephew - Mark Langmaier Eugster of Florida, son of Ellie’s Brother Raymond Langmaier (deceased); and cousins - Barbara Gannon (Husband: Brendan and Daughter Christine) of New York; and Richard Weinrich (Daughter: Heidi) of Connecticut.

Eleanor was my adult leader in girl scouts in the mid sixties. She organized great activities for us for several years. It was a formative time for me and he input and interests and style, so different from my own parents, added an important aspect to my world. I've not lived in Lima for 60 years, but (in a small world story) I spent an hour chatting with Ellie back in June. I was visiting my mother in her apartment in an assisted living facility in Lima and Ellie had just moved in next door. It was nice to visit and talk about old times and family.

What an amazing woman! She had a big heart and a strong will. If you were one of Gene's band kids, you were a kid of hers. Even 36 years after graduation, she still checked on me. I will miss visiting her and the phone calls. I know she's where she's wanted to be for quite a while now. Her job is done here...very well at that.

I remember Mrs Wollenhaupt for her sweet spirit inside and out. Loved her beautiful smile. Sincerely, Geraldine Green
