Obituary For Ellie Jane Torres
Ellie Jane Torres, 16 months of Lima passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, in her sleep.
Ellie was born June 22, 2022, in Lima Memorial Hospital to Thomas "T.J." and Hailey (Hurst) Torres who survive in Lima.
Also surviving are her sister, Evelyn Rose Torres; grandparents: Debra Kay and Thomas Torres, Jr., and Shellie Hurst all of Lima, and Jason and Amanda Hurst of Dayton, great-grandparents: David L. Smelcer of McComb, Donnie & Becky O'Connor and Sharon Hurst all of Lima; aunts and uncles, Skylar & Jake McKinley, Broden Hurst and Brooklyn Hurst; plus cousins, Waylon & Rosalie McKinley, and her four-legged body guard, Chief, along with many great aunts, uncles and cousins. She was cherished by many.
She loved her big sister's possessions, if Evelyn had it, Ellie wanted it. She loved to play peekaboo and was just learning Duck, Duck, Goose. She loved picking on her parents, eating ice cream, bows in her hair and dancing to "Baby Shark". She loved the Florida beaches and being on vacation. She was an ornery little girl but was a sparkle in her parents' eyes.
Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, November 17, 2023, in St. Charles Catholic Church, with Fr. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, where a Parish Wake Service will begin at 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Miami Valley Hospital Foundation N.I.C.U., 31 Wyoming St., Dayton, OH 45409.
