Obituary For Gerald Eugene Allen
Gerald "Jerry" Eugene Allen,74 of Lima, passed away September 27, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born November 8, 1948 in Lima, to Rexford "Rex" Allen and Edith "Dodie" (Kaiser) Eustler, who preceded him in death. On September 12, 1993, he married Natasha (Fields) Allen, who survives him in Lima.
Jerry was a 1966 graduate of Allen East High School and a proud E5 Specialist in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a technician at Procter and Gamble for 25 years until his retirement in 2005 and he then went on to become a self-taught stock trader. Jerry was an avid golfer and there was not a sport that he did not watch; he especially enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals. Jerry loved to travel both here in the States and internationally; there were only a couple states he had not been to. He was a "Jerry of All Trades" who was always teaching those close to him and knew the true meaning of "Jerry rigged". Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Jerry loved life and he forever changed the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Deborah (Kevin) Jackson, Patricia Allen and Jonas (Kimberly) Fields; grandchildren, Derek Allen, Trevon "Trey" Hamilton, Stacia Allen, Taylor Hamilton, Eli Fields and Harper Fields; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Aaron, Kaiden, Luna, Zara, Elijah and Theo; brother, Kelly Minix; sister, Joyce (Casey "Sutt") Draper; mother-in-law, Donna "Gigi" Fields; sisters-in-law, Sheila Minix and LaShane (Shariff) Relford; former spouse, Sharon (Ron) Schwinnen and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his bother, Dennis Minix.
