Obituary For James L. "Jim" Meeker

James L. "Jim" Meeker, 62, of Lima passed away at 5:37 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2023 at his residence.

He was born in Lima on January 17, 1962 to James R. and Ruth Ann (Miller) Meeker, who both preceded him in death.

Jim had worked for DTR Industries, Bluffton for over 25 years, retiring in 2017. He had been a referee for high school football. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Cavaliers the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a family man and loved to cook for his children. Jim was a two time cancer survivor. He was a movie guru who loved all movies but especially bad horror movies.

Surviving are his children Hannah Meeker of Wapak, OH, Tyler (Jessica Laman) Meeker of Marysville, OH and Logan (Taylor Forman) Meeker of Franklin, OH; his sister Kathy Wilcox of Lima.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Kevin Wilcox.

A Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at The Church at Allentown, 4900 Allentown Road, Elida, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at church.

Pastor Neal Whitney will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

    Kathie and the meeker family, I am so sorry for your loss. It has been years, decades, since we've seen each other on the Fleming farm in Vaughnsville. We were all young then and Jimmy the youngest trying to round up sheep or hogs was hilarious. My sympathy and prayers to each of you as you work your way through this loss.
