Obituary For Jay D. Chiles
Jay D. Chiles left this world in the early evening hours of November 6, 2023, surrounded by those he loved.
He was born September 14, 1950 in Findlay to Jack Bowman (deceased) and Betty (Bowman) Chiles. Donald Chiles became his father through adoption when he and Betty got married in 1959. Jay was formerly married to Patty LeValley who survives in Wapakoneta.
Jay was a truck driver for J.M. Sealts Company for 27 years retiring in 2000, he then was owner and operator of Paddy Mac's from 2000 until 2002. Jay was a 1968 graduate of Lima Senior High School, a member of First Baptist Church, Orioles, Eagles and the American Legion. He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed playing cards and played a lot of softball in his younger years. Jay loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: a Son, Nathan Chiles of Lima; 2 Daughters, Amanda (Todd) Harsh of Elida, Jaime (Sonny) Chiles of Lima; 4 Grandchildren - Allie, Kiersten, Kais and Estaphon; 2 Brothers, Jerry (Sue) Chiles and Michael (Cheryl) Chiles both of Lima; a Sister, Donna Sue Chiles of Warrensburg, MO; a Sister-in-law, Tammy Chiles of Lima.
He was preceded in death by: a Brother, Scott Chiles.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of services at 4:00 pm Saturday at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. Andrew Shields officiating.
The family would like to thank Interim Healthcare Hospice for their excellent care.
