Obituary For Justin L. Johnson

Justin "Jud" L. Johnson, 96, passed away at 5:59 pm, July 5, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 5, 1927 in Kenton to Roy and Opal (Shuster) Johnson who preceded him in death. On July 22, 1951 he married Dorothy Louise Kunkleman who preceded him in death on January 30, 2018.

Jud retired from S and W Trucking and Degen Excavating, he had also worked as the superintendent of the Allen County Home, at Excello and had operated the Funeral Escort service. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of BPOElks #54, FOEagles #370, Ada VFW Post 9381 and American Legion Post 96. Jud was a hard worker, he enjoyed mowing, repairing things, helping others, tinkering around in the barn and loved all kinds of animals. Ice cream was his favorite treat.

Survivors include: 2 Sons, Dale R. (Sheila) Johnson of Lima, Dennis W. Burkart of Jasper, FL; 3 Daughters, Deenie Morris of Waynesfield, Jackie Johnson of Lima, Kim (Dale) Palmer of Wapakoneta; 12 Grandchildren; numerous Great-Grandchildren; numerous Great-Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: 6 Brothers, Wayne, LaVerne, Ivan, Brice, Donald and Lloyd Johnson; a Grandson, Stephen Burkart; and a Son-in-law, Jim Morris.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of services at 1:00 pm Thursday at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Rev. Darrell Bucher officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the US Army and VFW Post 9381.

Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice Care.
