Mark R. Ward, 66, of Uniopolis, passed away at 3:50 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Shawnee Manor.

He was born on June 28, 1957 in Lima to the late Richard Ward and Pearl (Windle) Ward, who survives in Lima.

Mark was a 1975 graduate of Shawnee High School. He loved to watch football and his favorite teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also enjoyed zip-lining.

Surviving are his mother Pearl Ward of Lima; his son Brandon (Jackie) Ward of Cridersville; his grandchildren Lance, Kaleb and Elizabeth Ward; his sisters Kay Dempsey and Susan (Bill) Maus, both of Lima; his nieces Sherri Dempsey, Michelle Evans and Lindsey Evans; his nephews Brian Dempsey and Jason Dempsey.

He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth J. Ward and his brother-in-law Jerry Dempsey.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the service at 6:00 PM.

Interment in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic, will happen at a later date.
