Obituaries

Michael George Betts, age 80 of Lima, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 2:58 a.m. at his residence.

He was born October 1, 1942, in Reedly-Hollows, England to Kenneth and Dorothy (Shepherd) Betts. His father preceded him in death, along with his mother, Dorothy Betts Carmichael and his stepfather, Ralph Carmichael. On January 31, 1970, he married Patricia Stonehill who survives.

Also surviving are their children: Karyn Lynn (James Davenport) Betts and Jon Michael (Kelley) Betts both of Lima; their grandchildren: Cody James (Morgan) Huffer, Emma Catherine (Brandyn) Perry, Peyton Marie (Janson Ward-McCormick) Goedde and Bryce Robert Goedde; their great-grandchildren: Buck Mathew Ward-McCormick, Landry James Huffer, Sawyer Gray Ward-McCormick, plus, three on the way, Walker Monroe Ward-McCormick, Baby Perry and Baby Huffer; his brother, Ian (Esther) Kenneth Betts of Latty, OH and two half-sisters: Kim (Chris Kalmar) Betts of Vinton, IA and Jacqui (James) Hardison of Snow Hill, NC

Mr. Betts was a graduate of Cory Rawson High School was a retired machinist, having worked at many places around the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He loved to do woodworking.
