Obituary For Michele Dulcenia Floyd
Lima, OH
Michele Dulcenia (Simmons) Floyd, age 78, was called into the presence of the Lord, on September 13, 2023, at approximately 1:00 pm surrounded by family and friends at her residence. Michele was born October 28, 1944, in Lima, Ohio to Joseph “Dale” and C. Jeanette (Black) Simmons who both preceded her in death. She was united in holy matrimony to Isaac James Floyd on June 30, 1973, who survives her in Lima.
She graduated from Lima Senior High School in June of 1962 and attended Earlham College, Youngstown State University, and Lima Technical College graduating with an Associate degree in Business Management.
Michele took her first job at Vistron in Lima, OH. Over the years Michele worked at Sohio, Dana, Holsteins, Shawnee High School, and finally General Dynamics Land Systems where she retired in 1996. Michele didn’t stop her grind for long, in 1996 she began her new love of property management with the creation of M&I, Inc.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory 1 sister; Natalie McLester of Lima. 1 son; Damon J. Floyd, 2 bonus sons; Dwight A. McNeal and Justin Mayer; 1 fur baby; Theo Floyd all of Lima and 3 daughters; Regina Borja-Floyd of Colorado Springs; Micah Jeanette Floyd (Kit Pearson) of Lima and Teah Michele Floyd of Kalamazoo, MI. 5 grandchildren; Adrian Borja (Elizabeth Knowlton), Blake Floyd, Cedric McNeal (Kara Bales), Dimitri Floyd and Eliyana Floyd, as well as 4 great-grandchildren; Aaliyah McNeal, Amira Borja, Amari McNeal and Rilynn Borja. 3 fur grandbabies; Nala, Logan, Miles and 1 fur great-grandbaby; Buddy. A host of close family, and friends, and her loving caretaker Charlene Sanders. She was preceded in death by grandparents; Lehman and Mary Black; a special dad; John Tucker; a sister; Cathryn A. McDonald; a brother-in-law; Alonza McLester; close friend; Roseanne Venturella and a host of special cousins she loved near and far.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 10:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL @ 1170 Shawnee Rd., Lima, OH 45805. Officiating the service will be Pastor Antwan Smith. Following the service there will be an entombment in the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may visit on Monday from 5-8 pm at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Memorial Women's Wellness Center. Condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
