Paul "Paulie" D. Harris, 69, passed away on August 25, 2023, at 11:00 pm, from medical complications, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Paul was born July 7, 1954, in Lima, OH, to Claude and Mary (Rockhold) Harris who preceded him in death. On September 23, 2000, he married Cathy (Maloney) Harris who survives in Lima, OH.
Paul graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1972. He then graduated from Lima Technical College with an associate's degree. He was a firefighter / paramedic at Shawnee Township Fire Department where he eventually retired as one of the Platoon Chiefs. Paul was the lead Fire Instructor for Apollo Career Center for over twenty-five years. He was also an Instructor for the Hazmat, WMD and CPR. Paul was a Safety Technician for Safety Management Group in Indianapolis, IN. He was also a Ham Radio Operator and was the President of Northwest Ohio Amateur Radio Club. He loved cooking, genealogy, American History and collecting various stained glass. He also enjoyed traveling and cherished his family dearly and spending time with them.
Paul is survived by his wife, Catherine "Cathy" Harris of Lima, OH, children, Greg (Tiffany) Harris of TN, Beth (Andy) Williams of Akron, OH, Nick (Jessica) Harris of NC, Jon (Kristen) Harris of Lima, OH, Mary (Roberto) Serna of Canton, OH, fifteen grandchildren, siblings, David "Dave" (Sheryl) Harris of West Chester, OH, Lynn (Michael) Scott of Fair Haven, NJ.
He preceded in death by his brother, James "Jim" (Leslie) Harris, and sister, Janet Harris.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 12:00pm at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Father David Ross to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 11:00am until the time of the service at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
