Obituary For Philip Jay Bible

Philip Jay Bible, 91, passed away at 12:20 am, November 18, 2023 at his residence.

He was born January 18, 1932 in Lima to Philip Joshua and Hazel Evelyn (Mowery) Bible who preceded him in death. On September 18, 1954 he married Emma Jane Thorpe Bowsher who preceded him in death on April 10, 2015.

Philip was a maintenance supervisor for BP Chemical, a veteran of the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict, a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 96 and the Eagles Post 370. He enjoyed coaching softball, camping, fishing, bowling, and winters in Texas.

Survivors include: a Son, Mike (Nancy) Bible of Hudson, IN; 3 Daughters, Terrie (Sean) Carpenter and Cathie (Joe) Phillips both of Lima, Phyllis (David) Rump of Lewistown, OH; Grandchildren - Micheal (Robyn) Bible, Erin (Scott) Taflinger, Bradley Welker, Brenton Welker, Zachary (Melissa) Carpenter, Sara Barr, Jessica (Braden) Albrecht, Meghan (Dale) Seginak, Amanda (Rusty) Warnecke, Jaysen (Sarah) Rump, Shawnie (Stuart) Allen, Whitney (Corey) Shreves; 21 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: a Brother, Ralph (Mary Lou) Bible; 3 Sisters, Mildred (Tom) Sorgen, Joan (Omar) Piehl, Eileen (Pete) Piehl,

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of services at Noon on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. Ted Bible officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Post 1275 and the US Marine Corp.

The family would like to give a special thank you for the loving care received from the staff at the Greens Building B.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or Tunnel to Towers.
