Obituaries

Ralph R. Davis, 88, of Cridersville, passed away at 3:06 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born on November 15, 1935 in Salem, WV to William E. and Lucinda (Cottrell) Davis, who both preceded him in death. On July 15, 1955, he married Edna L. Williams, who survives in Cridersville.

Ralph had worked at Standard Oil of Ohio as a maintenance supervisor and retired in 1986, after working there for 33 years. He was an active member of the Rousculp Church of Christ since 1962 and served in various positions including being an Elder, teaching Sunday School for over 25 years and singing in the choir. He had also volunteered for Lima Health and Rehab and Plus Health Care. He enjoyed golfing and bowling in area leagues. He also enjoyed playing softball for over 40 years for the Standard Oil team and the Rousculp Church team.

Surviving are his wife Edna L. (Williams) Davis of Cridersville; his sons Michael C. Davis of Wapak, Douglas (Melissa) Davis of Lima and Ronald (Nancy) Davis of Lima; his six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister Patricia House of Baltimore, MD; his daughter-in-law Helen Davis of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Onie, Kenneth, William, Harold and Oren; his sisters Phyllis Ash and Eleanor Boop.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Rousculp Church of Christ, 890 Amherst Road, Lima, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Rev. Kenny Rader will officiate the services.

Entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum will immediately follow the service.
