Robert was born on April 1st, 1955 in Texas, but grew up in St. Johns, MI where he lived with his mother, step father and siblings. He attended local schools and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1973. He married Patricia Collins and they raised their two children (Lindsay and Greg) in St. Johns. Together they enjoyed family time camping, going “up-north” and gathering with their many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.

Later in life Robert built a loving relationship and married Tina Pierce. He continued to enjoy day trips and weekends away along with vacations in his retirement.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling and friend to the many loved ones surviving him. A self-proclaimed jokester, Robert loved to share jokes and perform lighthearted pranks to keep people laughing. He believed he needed to keep up his born on April Fools Day traditions. Robert was an Avid Detroit Tiger’s baseball fan and traveled many times to watch their home games. He played tennis throughout his life, later joining a league in retirement which he thoroughly enjoyed. The Beatles were his life-long favorite musical group and he was excited to see Paul McCartney perform multiple times. He believed it to be his personal mission to make everyone a Beatles fan, even his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going to air shows, catching up with his family and friends over the phone and his dogs held a special place in his heart.

Whether it be a listening ear or a ride, Robert would never hesitate to help those in need. He was known by all as a dependable and hard-working man with a caring heart. His loved one’s will honor his legacy by continuing to spread kindness and generosity in all that they do.

My favorite Uncle, So sad I won't get to hear another one of your jokes or witness your pranks, or you laughing at your own jokes. You cherished life and loved Pat and your kids dearly. You were a good man. "I don't care what they say about ya." You will forever be missed at family gatherings. I'll miss your texts, calls, and ability to just be a dork and not care. Love ya, Lori
