Obituary For Robert W. Potts, Jr.

Robert W. Potts, Jr., 67, of Lima passed away at 8:12 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at The Ohio State University Arthur G. James Cancer Center.

He was born on December 13, 1956 in Paulding, Co. to Robert W. Potts, Sr. and Phyllis (Noneman) Pottts, who both preceded him in death.

Robert proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during Vietnam on the USS Constellation. He had worked at Copeland Co. in Sidney and then worked for Randall Bearings Inc., in Lima for over 13 years as a machinist and retired from their shipping department. He was active in AA for over 20 years. He lived a very healthy lifestyle and took great pride in his health. He belonged to many area gyms and participated in cross training and body building. He was a giving man and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

Surviving are his siblings Thomas J. (Elida) Potts of Toledo, OH, Patricia (Rodney Rupp) Potts of Newark, OH and Catherine (Darrell Traxel) Davis of Ft. Wayne, IN and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions may be made to either The Wounded Warriors Project or to the Lima Rescue Mission.

    I only have the best of memories with my uncle. He took me riding on his motorcycle when I was little and was always there to fix my ford escort :-). Uncle Bob, we love you and you will be missed.
