Obituary For Susanne E. Thompson

Susanne E. "Sue" Thompson, 72 of Lima, passed away March 1, 2024, at Burton's Ridge Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

Sue was born October 25, 1951 in Pakistan to Kalman and Susanne (Schwertfeger) Pajor, who preceded her in death. In July of 1973, she married the love of her life, Jack Thompson, who preceded her in death in 2009.

Sue's family immigrated to the United States when she was three years old and she is a1969 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. She went on to continue her education at Kettering School of Nursing, after which she worked in Lima Memorial's Emergency Room for 40 years until her retirement. Sue was a long-time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and, after her retirement, she worked as an auxiliary volunteer at Lima Memorial. She sold and loved Longaberger baskets for over 25 years and she loved shopping and going to the beach with friends any chance she got. For several years, Sue hosted many international students whom she loved dearly and she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sue is survived by her children, Mike (Trudy) Thompson of Lima and Kari (Chad) Hagie of Elk Park, NC; four grandchildren, Michelle and Cole Kleman, Jake Thompson and Leyre Jimenez; sister, Vera (Howard) Kradjel of New Jersey; brothers, Tom (Mary) Pajor and Pete (Kathy) Pajor, both of Columbus; international students from all over the world, Pily, Antonio, Grey, Ludovica, Laura, Jenny, Ana, Elibeth and Juli and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Kent Kaufman to officiate the service. A private burial will be held in Allentown Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass in the St. Charles Church Gathering Space.
