Lima, Ohio

Tennessee "Tenny" Gay, age 58, was called to his Lighthouse in the Sky at 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with his sister by his side.

Tennessee was born September 1, 1965, in Lima, OH, to John Gay and Connie S. Gay Williams. On September 24, 2013, he married Barbara Kay "Bobbi" Gay.

Tennessee attended Lima Senior High School and had worked for the Local Laborers' Union #329. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, loved reading his Bible and witnessing about the Lord. He was a member of the Full Gospel Temple of Love Church. Tennessee was especially proud of his family and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kay "Bobbi" Gay of Lima, mom, Connie S. Williams of Lima; four children, Tyler (Chelsea "Nikki") Snider of Wapakoneta, Tiffiney N. (Sean) Alston of Lima, Robert Holbrook, II, and Toni (Rory) Woods of Lima; two brothers, Timothy Gay, and James Williams both of Lima; sister, Rachel (Gerard) Muniz of Lima, and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his dad, John Gay; father-in-law, Robert William Woodworth Jr., and mother-in-law, Dixie Bradley.

A celebration of life service will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Full Gospel Temple of Love, 713 Edsel Ave, Lima, OH 45801. Pastor Joe Compton will officiate the service.
