Obituary For Thomas Lee Cutlip II

Thomas Lee "Tom" Cutlip II, 54 of Lima, passed away November 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born January 25, 1969 in Lima, to Thomas Cutlip I and Patricia (Ciminillo) Hicks; his father preceded him in death and his mother survives him in Lima. On June 17, 2000, he married the love of his life, Lisa (Gallant) Cutlip, who survives him in Elida.

Tom was a 1987 graduate of Lima Senior High School and he worked at Howard and Runkel Landscape Associates as a landscaper and carpenter. He later used his talents that he acquired there to build ramps and other outdoor structures for those in need. Tom worked for 25 years for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler, mail carrier and, most recently, in vehicle maintenance. He loved fishing with his dad in Florida, he was an avid and talented golfer, and he enjoyed being outside in nature. Tom was an Ohio State Buckeyes and Minnesota Vikings fan, but nothing compared to watching his children play sports in high school. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his wife, mother and step-father Ray Hicks; Tom is survived by his children, Jacob (Ashley) Cutlip, Jacqueline Cutlip and Payne Cutlip; grandchildren, Aiden, Kayson, Ella Rose, and Vincent; brothers, Travis Cutlip and Trent (Jerilyn) Cutlip; sisters, Patty Cutlip, Polly Cutlip and Peggy Bunch; nieces and nephews, Ryan Cutlip, Trent Cutlip, Jr., Mariah Cutlip, Channce Cutlip, Adam Schleter, Kenzie Hollar, Kylie Hollar and Brandon Bunch; great-nephew, Marcus Cutlip; father-in-law, Jack Gallant; mother-in-law, Karen Gallant; friend and brother-in-law, Paul Masters; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gina (George) Kast, Julie (Bryan) Bellacosa, Jennifer Masters and John (Alejandra) Gallant; close friends, Kevin Beer, Gary Schleter, Ron Saxton, Jim Schrider, Steve Shutt, Scot Rhinock, Rick Gass, Dave Carter, Pat Miller, Ed Nolte and Josh Gaines and many aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends to list.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Wanda Cutlip; paternal grandparents, Estel and Rosemary Cutlip; maternal grandparents, Lewis "Jeff" and Vera Ciminillo; niece, Tara Cutlip and great-niece, Macee Cutlip.

Tom's family would like to extend a special thank you to his palliative care Dr. Flaherty, and the nurses who provided the care and comfort that came along with it.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Kent Kaufman to officiate the service. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, where the family will gather beneath the gazebo Tom was involved in building.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

This is from Johanna and Bob Navarre, friends of the family. We know how Tom suffered and fought hard to get well. His family was with him through this fight and carried him with their love and prayers. We have made a contribution in his memory to LCC. May he be with our Lord in Heaven where there is no more pain.
