Obituary For Timothy "Tim" Lee Bame

Timothy “Tim” Lee Bame passed away on March 16, 2024.

Tim was born on April 4, 1970, in Lima to James L. and Barbara J. (Timmons) Bame; his father preceded him in death and his mother survives him in Elida. On November 13, 1993 he married his high school sweetheart, Julie A. (Ziegenbusch) Bame, who survives him in Elida.

Tim graduated from Elida High School in 1988 and went on to further his education at The Ohio State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Radiology Technology. Tim worked in the medical field for over 30 years, most recently as a Heart Cath Tech in the Cath Lab at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima for the past 14 years. He was adored by his co-workers and patients. Tim was dedicated to helping others all while providing those in the Cath Lab with countless laughs. Tim found it difficult to get through his own jokes without laughing so hard he could hardly talk.

He was the consummate model of a husband, father, grandfather, friend, coworker, and caregiver. He was a member of South Side Christian Church and he loved taking care of the house and his beautiful yard. He enjoyed great food with friends, woodworking, craft beers, and scuba diving where he was one class away from becoming a Master Diver. Tim had a passion for helping others, regularly picking up on-call hours at the Cath Lab. When he finally took time to sit in “his” chair, he loved having his 8-year-old Boxer, Vinnie, by his side. Tim will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his wife and mother, Tim is survived by his son, Christian M. Bame of Lima, daughter, Hillarie J. (Matt) Cellar of Continental, Ohio, grandchildren Izabella and Elliott, and his sister Beth (Jeff) Snoke of Lancaster, Ohio. Tim is also survived by his father-in-law, Don Ziegenbusch, and brother-in-law, Steve Ziegenbusch, both of Lima.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2024 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES with Pastor Todd Cosart to officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Allen County Humane Society as Tim loved dogs, especially Boxers, and all of God’s creatures.

Tim was a great friend to have and I can only hope he considered me as such in the short time that I knew him, but you could never imagine a better guy to work with, learn with, and talk to. He will be missed and the lab will never quite be the same.
