Obituary For William G. Snow
Dr. William G. Snow (Bill), 89, of Lima passed away on August 16, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bill was born
October 10, 1933 in Lima, Ohio and lovingly adopted by Chester and Yvette (Brown) Snow, who
preceded him in death. On July 9, 1955, he married Marguerite Engbersen who survives.
Also surviving are their children: Genie Snow of Houston, Texas; Michael (Mary) of Cincinnati; Daniel
(Diane) of Portland, Oregon; Julia Reese (Clint) of Cincinnati; Gregory (Molly) of Chicago, Illinois. He was
preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Kathleen Robenalt of Ann Arbor, Michigan and his son-in-law,
Wiliam Robenalt.
Grandchildren include Jack (Lauren), Sean and Frank (MaKayla) Robenalt of Ann Arbor, Michigan;
Christopher (Yuan) Snow of Seattle, Washington and Kathryn Snow of Denver, Colorado; Hannah Snow
of Brooklyn, New York; Elizabeth Snow of Southern Pines, North Carolina; Merritt Reese of Chicago,
Illinois; Lucy Snow and Will Snow of Chicago, Illinois, and one great-granddaughter, Poppy Robenalt.
Bill was a 1951 graduate of St. Rose High School in Lima, attended Xavier University in Cincinnati for
undergraduate studies and graduated from St. Louis University College of Dentistry in 1957. From 1957
to 1959 he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
After returning from the military, he set up his dental practice in Lima, Ohio from which he retired in
1996. He was a member of the Allen County Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Bill was an active member of St. Charles Parish, where he served as lector, server, member of parish
council, and a member of the Visitation Sunday committee. In addition, he served on the board of
directors of the Hanley House and was one of the founding members of the Lima Serra Club. He and
Marge worked with the marriage preparation program at St. Charles Parish for many years.
In retirement, Bill was a 20-year volunteer for AARP’s Tax Preparation Program. He also enjoyed his
hobbies which included going to auctions, restoring antique furniture, spending time with his children
and grandchildren and traveling with friends and family.
Bill was an avid sports enthusiast and longtime loyal fan of the University of Alabama football team and
the Cincinnati Reds. His sense of humor and good-natured personality touched many lives and he will
be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held in Lima at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services
on Friday, August 25th from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima
Ohio on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Kent Kaufman officiating. Christian Burial will
follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic High School, St. Charles Parish or the charity of the donor’s choice.
